‘Netanyahu Has Gotten Things Wrong,’ Says JD Vance Amid Rising Friction
JD Vance, vice president of the United States, admitted that the relationship between the United States and Israel has been soured, noting that "there's no question that Benjamin Netanyahu has certainly gotten some things wrong," referring to the prime minister of Israel. According to Vance, while Israel is a friend to the U.S., Netanyahu makes demands forcefully on behalf of the Israelis, who pursue interests that do not coincide with those of America, thus, compelling the Trump administration to focus on Americans. The source of tension between Netanyahu and Trump is attributed to Netanyahu's involvement in military activities in Lebanon against Hezbollah, which has impeded Trump in making a complete peace and energy deal with Iran. Trump described Netanyahu as "crazy" due to the constant conflicts.
